Set in an established low-density residential neighbourhood in Arcadia, Los Angeles County, this detached home spans approximately 7,500 sq ft. The furnishing scheme draws on French classical proportions, arches and decorative mouldings, paired with neoclassical furniture and a softer material palette to make traditional forms feel comfortable and relevant to contemporary living.
At the entrance, successive arches and pale walls establish a composed arrival sequence. An antique-style console, mirror and crystal chandelier add depth without overwhelming the architecture. The curved staircase continues this flowing geometry, contrasting dark timber treads with intricate ironwork. Tall windows bring daylight across the stair, glass pendants and floral arrangement, revealing subtle variations in texture and shadow.
The salon is organised around a sculpted fireplace. Pale grey upholstered sofas, enveloping armchairs and light glass-topped tables bring an intimate scale to the tall room. Mouldings, aged mirror surfaces and layered textiles retain a classical richness, while ivory, warm grey and dark timber provide a quiet background. Gold is used sparingly in furniture frames, lighting and selected objects rather than as an all-over decorative finish.
In the circular dining room, a domed ceiling, arched windows and round table reinforce a sense of gathering. High-backed upholstered chairs combine comfort with a formal silhouette. A separate vaulted living hall takes a simpler neoclassical approach, with a tall fireplace and balanced seating arrangement creating a clear focal point. Soft textiles, timber floors and daylight temper the monumental proportions.
Rather than relying on decorative excess, the scheme finds its refinement in proportion, touch and light. Classical forms and contemporary comfort work together to create a welcoming setting for entertaining, family gatherings and quieter moments at home.
