Set within a 450 sqm holiday residence in Melbourne, this project brings together the relaxed character of classic American interiors with the warm, understated atmosphere of an Australian home.
The interior is defined by a considered mix of solid oak furniture, cotton and linen upholstery, warm timber tones and soft neutral finishes. Rather than creating a highly formal setting, the furniture and styling were selected to give each space a sense of comfort, familiarity and ease.
Across the double-height fireplace lounge, sitting rooms, dining area, study and bedrooms, traditional furniture forms are balanced with generous proportions and a restrained material palette. Upholstered seating softens the larger living spaces, while timber pieces and darker accents introduce depth and a sense of permanence.
The result is a home that feels composed yet lived-in — combining the relaxed spirit of American residential design with the villa’s more rustic local character, and creating an environment suited to both everyday living and time spent away from the city.
